When do you need a certified translation?
Certified translations are typically required by the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri), the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV), universities, employers, banks, courts and foreign embassies and authorities. If your document is going abroad, we also check whether it needs an apostille or legalization.
Authorised translator or sworn translator?
In Finland, translations are certified by an authorised translator who has passed an examination run by the Finnish National Agency for Education. In many other countries the same role is filled by a sworn or court-approved translator (traducteur assermenté, vereidigter Übersetzer). We assign the translator according to the country where the translation will be used, so it is accepted the first time.
Paper or electronic?
We deliver certified translations on paper, stamped and signed, by registered mail or courier. Many authorities also accept electronically signed translations. Tell us where the translation is going and we will choose the right format.
